Automatic Aluminum Doors

The use of aluminium in luxury and innovative homes

Aluminium in luxury homes is becoming more common every day. Learn about its uses in security doors, windows, exterior finishes and aesthetic elements.

The use of aluminum in luxury homes has become a predominant trend in the construction sector. This material has been used in roll-up aluminum doors, security doors or waterproofing systems. Now, in addition, it proliferates as an aesthetic solution in large mansions in exclusive neighborhoods, in cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Shanghai, London and Hong Kong.

Among the reasons for resorting to it are its lightness, malleability, resistance and durability. All this makes it an element with few drawbacks and many advantages. In addition, it is also sustainable and you can, for example, recycle an aluminum door by 95%, something that you could not do with many other materials.

Luxury homes often incorporate some aluminum parts. There are security gates at the entrance to residential complexes, large mansions or high-end buildings, because they provide toughness and great resistance to corrosion. It is also used as an aesthetic solution in the construction of large glazed areas, façade finishes and all kinds of exterior finishes.

It gives a modern, elegant and solid image. A façade covered in aluminium, a door or windows made of this material, not only offer security against theft or intrusions but, at the same time, provide an image of an impregnable fortress.

A clear example of this is a single-family house designed by designer Mario Romano, located in the Californian city of Los Angeles. With a price tag of around six million euros and a façade entirely covered in white aluminium, this mansion in the coastal and surfing neighbourhood of Venice is a clear example of the combination of two functions that this material fulfills perfectly: aesthetics and functionality.

The aluminium is arranged in an undulating shape over the entire façade, forming angles that resemble the waves of the beaches of Venice or Santa Monica, bathed by the Pacific Ocean. The effect, striking and with an image that combines the urban and the bohemian, is achieved thanks to 300 aluminum plates that were cut to size.

The house is equipped with all the comforts, large interior spaces, spa, swimming pool, large garden and terrace, all with futuristic touches, but with a comfortable and cozy design.

Other innovative buildings

There are many other examples of iconic and innovative buildings in different parts of the world that have aluminum as one of the defining materials. They are examples of constructions that introduce elements in a new way and with the intention of making them last over time, merge with nature and do not harm the environments in which they are located.

In Norway, one of the countries with the most advanced environmental policy, it has been used in the construction of mountain huts and cabins.

In other cities around the world there are examples of prefabricated aluminum houses, which are self-sufficient in energy thanks to solar and wind panels. In addition to aluminium in luxury homes, there are many other examples of aluminium constructions. It is clear that the future of sustainable and quality construction lies in the use of this element.
